“Another fall, and what a fall! Must you give up hope? No. Humble yourself and, through Mary, your Mother, have recourse to the merciful Love of Jesus. A miserere, and lift up your heart! And now begin again.”
(St. Josemaria, The Way, #711)
Before we sin, Christ seems to be our accuser. Before we sin, the devil seems to be our defender. He’s on our side. The side of our sex, the side of our greed, the side of our pride. After we sin, the roles reverse. Christ becomes the defender and the devil the accuser. And the devil will say “Alright, you’ve had your dope and now you’re hooked! Don’t come to me. I can’t help u. So don’t give up. Now you’ve lost your virginity. What difference does it make? Might just as well go on. Sure u have stolen but u haven’t been caught but u will be.” He will fill u with despair like Judas was filled with despair. He could’ve gone to the Saviour but he put a rope to his neck. But Jesus your defender will say “Come Ye who are heavy laden, and I will give u rest. If your sins be scarlet, they shall be washed away as white as snow and if they be Crimson, they will be white as wool.”
The 3 powerful weapons against Satan:
1) The Holy Name of Jesus – that is the Name that Satan cannot stand. Because In the name of Jesus, every knee will now in the heavens and on the earth and under the earth.
2) The Blood of Christ – the invocation of the blood of Christ. We are saved by the blood of Christ. In temptation, call upon His blood for without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.
3) Devotion to our blessed Mother – For in the beginning, in the book of Genesis, it was the seed of the woman that would crush the seed of Satan.
